“By the end of the night I felt like I’d been to a real prohibition party – Quaglino’s has certainly brought back the roaring 20s in style.”
The Ezine Business Reporter joined us last week for our first Giovanni’s Gin Joint Cocktail Masterclass. “We are all transfixed on the mixologist intricately mixing drinks, listening to his gin-drinking stories and tales of how to make that perfect cocktail, while jazz music is playing in the background.” Getting stuck in they “make a Miss Von Teese from Tanqueray 10, Galliano, egg white, lemon juice, lavender and raspberry syrup” and “a Lady Godiva, a Negroni and a Gypsy Bee Lee.”
While intricately creating challenging cocktails such as ‘Miss Von Teese‘ Ezine’s Business Reporter takes in the surroundings and write of how “it is the type of place I imagine Jay Gatsby, the mysterious millionaire in the F Scott Fitzgerald novel The Great Gatsby would hold his parties.”
Our menu “is as glamorous as the surroundings, and in true 20s prohibition style, just after we order a roaring swing band starts playing on stage.” Our guests enjoyed delights and specialities such as baked celeriac royale, warm spring vegetable salad with quail’s egg and morel and hazelnut dressing, watercress and pearl barley risotto and seared yellowfin tuna and tenderstem broccoli with lemon dressing.
