The evening will be hosted by Helen Macfarlane from Yealands Estate. From inception the winery has been committed to the highest standards of environmental stewardship. The wines are carefully nurtured from the vine to the bottle with low impact methods, leading-edge green technologies and some very inventive thinking. Yealand’s carbon neutral winery, built in accordance with New Zealand Building Council’s Green Star Building Certification, was one of a handful in the world to achieve carboNZeroTM certification.
Launched in 2008, the winery is also the first to have measured and offset all greenhouse gas emissions since day one. All their wines are produced sustainably with no impact on the environment. And late last year they were awarded with the 2014 NZ Producer of the Year from the IWSC.
