In the 1930s, groups like The Boswell Sisters and The Andrews Sisters enchanted the world with their sweet voices, close harmonies and heartwarming songs. Paying homage to those iconic girl groups of the wartime years, The Bluebirds perfectly blended three-part harmonies and lilting melodies will transport you back in time to a bygone age. Performing either as a five-piece (with acoustic guitar and double bass) or a seven-piece band (with jazz clarinet and violin), The Bluebirds’ wartime-era songbook includes old favourites and forgotten hits, like Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and Cheek to Cheek – as well as a few modern day surprises like Beyonce’s Crazy in Love and Daft Punk’s Get Lucky, given the retro treatment. Uplifting, with a sweetly innocent charm, The Bluebirds are the ideal garden party or teatime band.
